Digital Lock


It is a trend, is convenience. Digital Lock for the house door.

We have a very bad experienced with the company Your Digital Lock Singapore (https://www.yourdigitallock.com.sg/)  Yes, I am putting their link here to avoid the readers puzzled on which company I am talking about.

In early December 2018, this company have a temporary booth in a Shopping Mall near our house. My Dad have a great interest to change our house lock to Digital Lock after seeing my Cousin's digital lock.

Without further research or consideration, we ordered the digital lock from yourdigitallock, for both wooden door and gate.

On the day of installation, came two young guys, merely in their mid twenties or younger. The one who is going to do the installation, talk very Ah Beng. He tried to convinced us that we are not able to install the Samsung Push-Pull Digital Lock that we ordered, due to the space constraint between the wooden door and gate. He mentioned that if the Samsung Push-Pull Lock is installed, the gate lock will not be able to fit. He recommend us other digital lock.

My dad wanted the Samsung Push-Pull Lock so much, then the Ah Beng say ok, he will do the installation and did not elaborate further.

After the installation, he dismantled our gate handle and lock, leaving two holes on the gate with no lock, and he said the gate digital lock will be install next time by another group.

I thought to myself, how could it be he did not mentioned the gate lock to be install next time before he installed the wooden door digital lock?

He left, without giving us a confirm date on the installation of the gate door lock.

We are left with an unlockable gate.

The next day, I called up the so-call Person-In-Charge, his tone is not friendly, he mentioned he really cannot give us a date for the installation, saying that they are too packed with orders.

(What customer service is this?)

Just merely 4 days of using the Samsung Push-Pull digital door lock, the lock went malfunctioned. We cannot unlock it with finger prints, card or pins. It is only the override key can be used to unlock the door!

(FYI, we are only given two override keys)

My Dad called up yourdigitallock, but the person who answer, did not give a exact answer on when and how they are going to do about it.

We have attempted to call yourdigitallock again the next few days, but they simply did not pick up our calls. My Dad also watsapp to them, no reply either.


Two weeks past, with no response from yourdigitallock, my parents went to log to CASE. However, CASE cannot do anything much, only helped us to issue a letter stating the incident and to instruct yourdigitallock to rectify the malfunction lock.

I have also post comments on yourdigitiallock facebook page in regards to our experience, they simply DELETE my comment and BLOCK me! This is apparently a company who do not want to hold responsibility. POOR SERVICE.

Another week or so past after the issuance of the letter from CASE, we did not receive any reply from yourdigitallock. Thus, we come to a decision that we should approach another digital lock company to install the gate lock first, leaving the malfunctioned lock as it is, hoping that yourdigitallock will response anytime to get the problem fix.

We approached An Digital Lock. After have a talk with the sales at An Digital Lock, we feel that we are more confidence with them. Being conveyed our situation to An Digital Lock, we are better understanding that the one we have installed, is parallel import. And we also get to know that we should have get three override keys instead of two.

With a second thought on the bad experience with yourdigitallock, we decided we should also change the malfunction Samsung Push-Pull Digital Lock to a local set. Local set brings more peace to mind, as we can approach An Digital Lock or Harman if anything goes wrong with the lock.

Actually, at the same time, we got someone to do the repair, and the lock works! However, we still decided to change it to a local set. Also, in view of being told we should have got three override keys, but we have two only, makes us skeptical about the trustworthiness of yourdigitallock, what if they are holding one of our override keys?

Just two days before our new digital lock is to be installed, yourdigitallock called, and say they would like to come and install the Gate Lock..

(OMG! They can simply ignore our complain on the malfunction digital lock and say want to come and install the Gate digital lock.)

My dad told them "No", they should have come and make one-to-one exchange (as per they verbal promise during our purchase). The guy who talk to my Dad over the phone say he cannot make the decision, and have asked his superior to talk to my Dad instead.

That person over the phone promised to come and make the change. However, I called back later and ask them not to come. It serves no purpose as we decided to get other company to change the lock. Also, we have lost trust of yourdigitallock.

This experience cost us SGD$830.

A message to those who read this post, the above is our experience. Decision is yours.

Do research is important. My personal view, always get local set for any digital appliance, as when comes to warranty, it is much more easier.
